About Our Church
Keys To The Kingdom is a church rooted in love and truth. We were founded in 2010 by Bishop Leonard B. Johnson, whose primary calling for the church is to propagate the Gospel of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1–4).
Our church is currently forming in the Lewis Center, Ohio area, and it's an exciting time to get in on the ground floor with us. We're praying that Jesus will send people with a heart for others to walk this journey alongside us as we grow.
At present, we are conducting Bible studies from house to house (Acts 2:46) — teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1–4) and obedience to the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38). We'd love your prayers as we work toward a permanent facility for our services.
We look forward to praise, worship, preaching, teaching, tarrying, outreach, and other services to be held in our new facility. As we continue to spread the Word of God from house to house, and corner to corner, we're praying for those we encounter to accept salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Praise God!
Pastor's Biography
Bishop, Johnson was born on January 19, 1961, in Sacramento, California. As a child, Bishop Johnson was introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ by his mother, Annie R. Johnson, and his grandparents, Eddie and Willie Mae Booker. He was a junior deacon and choir member by the age of twelve.
As a young man, Bishop Johnson walked away from his upbringing and into a season of hard living that took a toll on his life and freedom for several years. It was during this difficult chapter that he began to earnestly seek God for direction — and unlike many who seek God only for temporary relief, Bishop Johnson was truly committed to changing his life through Jesus Christ. He studied God's Word diligently, reading the entire Bible seven times, and was rewarded with a new desire to live by it.
It was in this season that Bishop Johnson received his call to the ministry. The scripture Jesus called him with was 2 Timothy 2:4. As he began teaching, so many men gathered around him to hear the Word that he was given the opportunity to lead regular Bible studies for a wider group. Praise the Lord!
After returning home in May of 1993, Bishop Johnson attended Church of God Pentecostal under the supervision of Elder John H. McNeil. His stepmother, Virginia Johnson, was the person God used to guide him to true salvation. He received the gift of the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, on December 30, 1990, and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins shortly thereafter.
Bishop Johnson has traveled the country preaching and teaching the truth of God's Word, assisting in establishing churches in California, Nevada, Ohio, New Jersey, and, more recently, Texas — before founding Keys To The Kingdom in 2010 and shepherding this growing fellowship in the Columbus, Ohio area. He has been publicly ordained four times:
Bishop Johnson's favorite scripture is Acts 10:43, and his signature saying is: "It's all about souls, and it's all in Jesus' Name." His desire is to see souls born into the Kingdom of God, and to continue in the faith until the time of redemption.
The Elect Lady
Bishop Johnson is married to his beautiful wife, Elect Lady, Casanail L. Johnson — a woman of God dedicated to Jesus Christ and the ministry of the saints, and a vital, appreciated co-worker in the Kingdom of God. Together, they have two children: a daughter, Salice J. Johnson, and a son, Matthias J. Johnson.
Beyond The Pulpit
Bishop Johnson holds an A.A. degree in Computer Science and brings over 25 years of enterprise IT and cybersecurity experience to his work outside the pulpit. He is the founder and owner of Elite IT Systems, LLC, a managed IT services and cybersecurity firm serving businesses throughout the Columbus, Ohio area. Together, Bishop and Elect Lady Johnson are proud to build both ministry and marketplace as reflections of their shared calling to serve others with excellence.
